Year-round advanced learning for bright students who are ready for more.

A rigorous online Science and Mathematics programme for curious students in Grades 5–8. Expert mentors. Deep understanding. The challenge bright minds deserve. We start from first principles, then push ideas to their limits—so learning feels clearer and more advanced.

"I think I have learnt a lot more in these past five sessions compared to what I could've learnt in half a school year. Learning is one thing and understanding is different... Here I have understood stuff a lot better."
— Grade 8 student, Vasudev C Wadhwa Arya Vidya Mandir, Mumbai

— Grade 8 student, Vasudev C Wadhwa Arya Vidya Mandir School, Mumbai
"The content feels slow-paced compared to school and Olympiad classes... even at a slower pace, we are covering more."
— Adithya, Grade 7
"Here we learned the formulas, but also learned how to derive them, and why they work... not just memorising things."
— Advaiy, Grade 8
"I've seen him getting disconnected with other classes after the class is over, but here it was very much engaging even after the class."

What is Gifted Lab?

Gifted Lab is GenWise's year-round programme for advanced learners. Most smart students want to go faster. Gifted Lab goes deeper. We start with simple foundations, then extend concepts to advanced cases — so students don't just know, they can explain and apply.

The programme in a nutshell:

  • Integrated Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Mathematics beyond the school syllabus - starting from fundamentals and extending to advanced applications and reasoning.
  • 30 weeks across the academic year, organised into six 5-week modules
  • Small cohorts of 20–30 students, selected via ASSET Talent Search, meeting week after week
  • Discussion-based classes: Students think, argue, explain—they aren't passive listeners
  • Expert mentors: PhDs and experienced educators who teach for understanding, not exam prep
  • Depth-first progression: We begin with core ideas, then extend to harder cases and unfamiliar contexts (that's where the 'advanced' comes from).

Students can take Science only, Mathematics only, or both.

What 'advanced' means here

Not: "Racing ahead in the school syllabus or coaching-style coverage."

Yes: "Starting from first principles, then extending ideas to advanced cases—derivations, boundary cases, transfer."

In practice: "It can feel slower and more challenging, because the thinking goes deeper."

Is this your child?

You might recognise your child in one of these:

The Coaster

Finishes classwork early. Gets bored. Tests are fine, so everyone says 'They're doing well.' But you sense they're not pushing to their full potential—and they haven't learned how to struggle productively.

The Anxious Topper

Always near the top. One 'bad' test shakes them completely. They haven't had a chance to learn from failure. Their confidence is tied to marks, not understanding.

The Invisible Advanced Child

Reads widely, asks sharp questions, sometimes studies ahead. Teachers say 'She's doing great' but can't suggest how to challenge her further. You sense there's more potential than school can use.

The Self-Taught Kid

Already watching physics videos or solving problems for fun. But their learning is scattered. No structured path, no mentor, no peer group at their level.

The System Gap

School moves at the median pace. Tuition adds more of the same. Coaching promises acceleration but optimises for exams, not understanding.

The result? Bright students become experts at reproducing answers, not thinking deeply. They may do well through school—then hit a wall later, in Olympiads, university, or any place that rewards genuine understanding.

Ages 10–14 are the critical window. This is when habits form: whether your child learns to coast, to crumble under pressure—or to enjoy being challenged.

Gifted Lab exists for families who don't want to wait and see which habits stick.

Quick FAQ

Coaching optimises for exam performance. Topics are covered in test sequence. Understanding is secondary to pattern recognition.

Gifted Lab optimises for thinking. We cover fewer topics but go deeper. We care about whether students can explain why, not just solve how. Students who build understanding here find that exam preparation later becomes a matter of format familiarity, not conceptual catch-up.

We deliberately calibrate workload. Science is 2 hours live per week; Math is 1.5 hours. Add 2–3 hours of independent work. Less time than most sports or music commitments. Enough to stretch the mind, never to burn it out.

Sessions are scheduled on Friday evenings (Science) and Saturdays (Math). Recordings are available for 3 days if your child must miss a session.

It can feel slower because we don't skip steps. But that's exactly why it becomes advanced: we take a concept further—to boundary cases, derivations, and transfer across contexts. When we work with these students, we find their fundamentals are often less solid than expected. They can solve problems but struggle to explain why their solution works. They know formulas but can't derive them.

Gifted Lab addresses this gap. The pace may feel slower than coaching—but students tell us they "cover more" because they actually understand. Going deeper is often harder than going faster.

Students should join live sessions from a laptop or computer (not a phone or tablet). A stable internet connection and a quiet space for focused participation are essential.
